Have you discharged from the ADF and need something to keep you busy? Do you have a passion for helping veterans? Then this could be the perfect opportunity to become a volunteer. Whether it be a Compensation Advocate, Wellbeing Advocate, Welfare Support Officer or Justice of the Peace (JP), we have a role for you. Currently there is a severe shortage of Advocates which is leaving current or ex-serving Defence Force members to submit claims to DVA with little help or knowledge of the processes. This is especially true with injured Veterans that are in need of assistance.

We are a national, independent Ex Services Organisation (ESO), with members from Darwin to Tasmania, Western Australia to Bundaberg and anywhere in between.

Come and join our Community of Practice where you can make a difference by learning the required skills to help our Veterans. This opportunity can allow you to explore possible career options which can lead to future ventures within other organisation's while being part of a great cause for our military personnel.

Compensation Advocate

Compensation Advocate

The role of the Compensation Advocate is to assist current and ex-serving Defence Force personnel, their dependents and families with their dealings with the Department of Veterans' Affairs (DVA). Compensation Advocates assist personnel in applying for DVA pensions, military compensation, benefits and rehabilitation.

Compensation Advocates can also present cases on behalf of personnel where they will interpret relevant DVA regulations and laws for members and prepare claims.

Advocates also assist veterans with the lodgement of appeals to the Veterans' Review Board (VRB) and the Administrative Appeals Tribunal (AAT).

Wellbeing Advocates

Wellbeing Advocates

Wellbeing Officers assist clients with information about health and community services which may be available to them. They also gather information on local community services and how to access them, as well as communicate with service providers.
